Back In Black

Much has been said of this Friday, 24 November 2017. If the date itself doesn’t specifically ring a bell, try “Black Friday” instead. Yes, hot on the heels of China-created Singles Day, is yet another reason to shop. So, what is Black Friday? A quick lowdown reads something like this: Black Friday is an informal name for the day following Thanksgiving Day in the United States, which has been regarded as the beginning of the country's Christmas shopping season since 1952.

With that being said, even though we generally do not observe Thanksgiving here in Singapore, it doesn’t mean we can’t give thanks to the people who really matter and have helped us through the year (even if those people refer to me, myself, and I). After all, there’s no better time to indulge in great style at great prices, considering how we’ve recently received some “black” news that taxes could be going up, as well as several MRT stations literally going pitch black on full shutdown days scheduled soon.
